HEADLINE OF THE WEEK
DA Launches Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative: Neuroscience R&D Faces a New Regulatory Playbook
The FDA launched the Neuroscience Advancement and Innovation Nexus (NAIN), introducing a coordinated regulatory approach across drugs, biologics, and medical devices, with Alzheimer’s prevention as its first priority. The initiative aims to address longstanding barriers in neuroscience development, particularly clinical trial design, biomarkers, and evidence requirements for therapies targeting disease before cognitive decline becomes apparent.
So What? For biopharma investors and healthcare leaders, this could shift capital toward early intervention, biomarker platforms, and preventive therapeutics, potentially improving development economics in a historically high-risk market, although faster approvals and commercial returns remain unproven. It's time to set up your holiday streaming campaign
Are you ready to reach holiday shoppers on CTV? For many streamers, the season is already underway.
Last year, holiday content searches on Roku saw an 86% increase during October. And in November, those searches rise an average of 39% weekly. This surging holiday spirit is mirrored by consumer activity, as about half of Roku streamers shopped Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in 2025.
Meeting those shoppers is easier than you might think. Begin with the seasonal outcome you hope to drive: awareness, online sales, leads, store visits, or another measurable goal. From there, define your audience, upload your creative, set the budget and campaign dates, and establish measurement before launching. You can even create a shoppable ad unit that lets streamers buy with a click of their remote.
Our holiday playbook offers a month-by-month guide to reaching shoppers during this all-important time of year.

TREND TO WATCH
Healthcare M&A: Deal Volume Holds, but Capital Pulls Back
Healthcare dealmaking is showing a growing disconnect between transaction volume and deal value. While activity remained relatively stable at approximately 420 deals per half-year throughout 2024 and 2025, aggregate deal value fluctuated sharply, peaking near $42B in H1 2025 before declining in subsequent periods.
The divergence became more pronounced in H1 2026, when deal volume fell to roughly 370 transactions, while total value dropped to approximately $9B, its lowest level in the period shown.
The subsector mix reveals another important signal. Healthcare services continue to dominate transaction activity, while healthcare IT and digital health maintain a meaningful share of deal flow. The market appears to be supporting smaller transactions even as larger capital commitments become less consistent.

Why it matters: For private equity investors and strategic acquirers, the widening gap between deal count and value suggests a more selective M&A environment. Smaller acquisitions, platform expansion, and targeted consolidation may offer more actionable opportunities than large transformational transactions.
Bottom line: Healthcare M&A has not stopped. But capital deployment is becoming more selective, and deal size increasingly matters as much as deal volume. (More)

For EQT, the acquisition provides exposure to a critical segment of healthcare infrastructure, where recurring laboratory demand, technological barriers, and established customer relationships support long-term growth. (More)
